Make Everyday One for Giving ThanksGiving thanks fosters a spirit of optimism and increases appreciation for the gifts God has given. Spontaneous prayers of thanks can be offered throughout the day: Thank you, God, for this beautiful day! Thank you that my children are playing well together! Thank you for this meal! Young children can be asked what they would like to thank God for each day as part of their bedtime ritual. Older children and adults can use a family prayer journal where simple prayers of thanks can be written down and shared. One might also write letters to family or friends letting them know what you thank God for most about them.
